About Trishuli Plus

Some Brief Introduction

Trishuli Plus Community Action Group (TPCAG) is a community action group established in 2006, dedicated to addressing the challenges posed by HIV and TB in Nepal. As a grassroots, community-based non-profit organization, TP operates with a clear mission: to provide comprehensive prevention, care, support, and treatment services to individuals living with HIV (PLHIV) and those affected by TB. Led and driven by PLHIV and TB survivors, TP stands as a beacon of hope, advocating for their meaningful inclusion in policy development and implementation processes related to HIV, TB, and Hepatitis B/C.

With a steadfast commitment to national strategic goals, TP collaborates closely with development partners and stakeholders to advance the HIV response in Nepal. Through its tireless efforts, TP has emerged as a leader in HIV and TB interventions across Nepal specially in  districts such as Nuwakot, Dhading, Rasuwa, and Kathmandu in Bagmati province and Sudhurpachim Province .

TP’s initiatives extend beyond direct healthcare provision, encompassing positive prevention programs, community care centers, and home-based care services. Through innovative strategies such as peer education and outreach activities, TP fosters awareness, promotes treatment adherence, and combats stigma and discrimination surrounding HIV and TB.

Moreover, TP’s influence transcends national borders as the country partner organization for Nepal of APCASO, a regional civil society network championing health equity and human rights. Through strategic partnerships and advocacy efforts, TP amplifies the voices of marginalized communities, driving change at both national and regional levels.

Currently engaged in pivotal projects such as the Stop TB Partnership’s Challenge Facility for Civil Society and the Global Fund Community, Rights, and Gender Strategic Initiative, TP remains at the forefront of TB advocacy and community mobilization. With a focus on building partnerships and fostering collaboration with governmental and non-governmental entities, TP continues to make strides in reducing stigma and discrimination associated with HIV and TB, paving the way for a healthier, more inclusive society.

After having the opportunity to work with the Trishuli Plus team, I am very much impressed with the work they are doing. From the TB- HIV and AIDS prevention program among migrants at Kathmandu to their community care and support program at Nuwakot, addressing the real problem of community has always been their priority. Their policy level advocacy and grass-root intervention- parallel to each other clearly reflects their determination to touch thousands of lives. They are an extremely committed and passionate group and, I am sure; they are making a big difference in the sector of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and malaria. I am glad to be associated with the organization in many ways and I wish the team all the best and success in their future endeavors
